First Look: MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual Yellow Gold

MB&F launched the first Legacy Machine Perpetual in 2015, and in 2016 won the Best Calendar Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Legacy Machine Perpetual series is now joined by 18k Yellow Gold limited edition of 25 pieces, following the models in red gold, platinum, white gold, and titanium.Â

This astonishing watch is developed and designed in cooperation with Stephen McDonnell, an Independent Irish watchmaker. The Legacy Machine perpetual Yellow Gold has a complicated movement entirely built from the ground; it is uniquely designed with no base and no module. That means that it is designed from scratch; it provides no more skipping dates or jamming gears and has no problem with calendar changes. Infact it is a trouble-free watch.
The movement of Legacy Machine Perpetual 18k Yellow Gold is a gorgeous piece of work both from front and back. It has a classic display, a stylish look, and is an elegant watch. With the first glance upon the watch, the four sub-dials floating above the dial skeletonized on a hidden studs capture your attention. It has a complicated design that just the case comprises of 69 parts, and all over it has 581 components that make up the caliber.
MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual Yellow Gold Uniqueness

The watch is so amazingly designed that watch enthusiast will surely consider it a dream watch. On the dial side, it has a full display of its revolutionary design, ensconced beneath a large suspended balance. The suspended balance and all the complication can be seen clearly through the open dial, and it does not end here, the eye-catching twist balance is one of the world’s longest balance staff. An innovative system is specially developed for Legacy Machine Perpetual, no visible attachment for the movement can be seen, and the sub dials appear to float. With complexities such as the calendar mechanism, it looks technically impossible, but the brand has the class that makes it possible. The calendar of Legacy Machine Perpetual Yellow Gold calculates the varying numbers of days in each month, which is indeed a random complexity, especially including the 29 days in Feb during leap years.
